Titanic's Nine Tenths Below is now outselling Thornbridge Jaipur in the shop. Everyone whose tried the Nine Tenths agrees it is a superb IPA well worth keeping on as a permanant beer by the brewery and not as planned, a seasonal bottled special. Beers delivered today from Leek, Oakham, Off Beat and Quartz. First time for Quartz in the Sandbach shop. Red Willow are due this week.

We had our first delivery of beer from Dunscar Bridge today, three beers, all styles of bitter and filtered. Marbles much awaited delivery arrived today too, including their much acclaimed Ginger Stout. At the moment we've probably got one of the best selections of British and Overseas beers we've had at any one time including - Marble, Buxton, Magic Rock, Summer Wine, Hardknott, Odell, Victory, Lowenbrau, Gut Forsting and Schelde to name a few. |
Tuesday 6th March
| As I write this small update, I'm sampling the latest Limited Edition beer from Titanic - Nine Tenths Below. Have previously supped it in cask form and have been waiting with anticipation for the brewers to make the decision to bottle it. Now of course there has always been only one Jaipur, but take a look at Nine Tenths if you've not already tried it. I hope that Titanic will think again and keep this fine IPA as a core bottled beer, it was the success of the cask version that confirmed the beers popularity. Talking of Thornbridge (Jaipur) have declined to stock their latest "special", another offering from their exclusive "Hall" range - far too expensive and I hope they look seriously again at their pricing policy for such beers. |

Friday 2nd March
Prices are now up for the Hardknott beers. Delivery today from Holdens Brewery, Dudley, West Midlands
Thursday 1st March

Still no Marble delivery, however today we've had a quite superb selection of beers delivered from Buxton brewery. Not been able to price up the Hardknott beers yet, as I don't know the cost - no-one was answering the phone today. Will try again tomorrow morning as we will need them for the weekend judging by the emails we've received. |
Wednesday 29th February
| Quick update on deliveries - Wincle dropped off 3 different beers. Hardknott beers arrived - 5 superb bottle conditioned beers, several of which are limited editions. Must have got my dates wrong with Marble. |

The beer they banned from Parliament is back in stock at the shop - the infamous Top Totty. Yes, the label that "disturbed" so much one of our political elite that it had to be removed from the Strangers Bar at Westminster is in stock now from Slaters Brewery, Stafford. One wonders how far the numpkins in Parliament will go in suppressing artwork or beer names as political correctness hits yet another low. It's a bit scary really when you consider the numpkins have been elected by the public to serve the public and can make such rediculous decisions as this. |

Wilson Potter Brewery delivered for the first time today. We have 3 beers in from them, all bottle conditioned. Ossett Brewery have recommenced bottling their IPA Excelsior after a period when it was dropped from their list. Now it's back available we have their 3 beers stocked and I'm sure it they will be popular again.
Still no Wincle beers available, they're waiting for the bottles to be returned from the bottlers - they now send their beer away for bottling and it is filitered. Bollington have also gone down the road of filtered beers and it raises again the issue "Bottle Conditioned" or "Filtered" which is best. Of course our old friends CAMRA say that bottle conditioned is "Real Ale", I'd be interested to take comments from anyone on this subject - I have my own ideas!

Deliveries over the last few days include Moreton Brewery from South Staffs with 2 new beers for us. The much acclaimed brewery Summer Wine from Holmefirth, Yorkshire dropped off 3 very interesting beers (2 of which are new to the shop.
The new counter position and extra shelving has been a big success in expanding the range and volume of our beers, unfortunately it means Ted's space behind the counter has been somewhat reduced. We are often asked whether all our beers are listed on the website. The answer is no, we try to keep as many on as we can and regularly update stock but the volume of bottles means we simply haven't the time to keep a total inventory - sorry!

Tuesday 14th February
Deliveries today from - Copper Dragon, Salopian & Wapping

Monday 13th February
Just back from our weekend away in East Lancashire. Plenty of walking in the area and a few dog friendly pubs with decent beers to be found. The pick of the pubs were the Red Lion in Littleborough and the Moorcock Tavern, just a 20min walk out of Littleborough. Stayed at Hollingsworth Lake camp site and we would recommend this site to anyone visiting the area, a no frills site with basic amenities and close to junction 21 of the M62. It wasn't just about the walking and drinking though, we collected a few cases of bottles as well! First port of call was to collect our American beer order from Leeds, all went to plan and our 8 cases were waiting for collection. Victory, Sierra Nevada and Odell beers were on our shopping list. All details of beers brought back can be found on the appropriate beers pages.

Had a run out and went to collect a range of beers from Blythe Brewery at Hamstall Ridware, South Staffordshire today and also called into Lymestone Brewery in Stone to replenish stocks. Blythes' beers have a great reputation for quality and consistancy and are all bottle conditioned. Lymestone are going great guns, their beers sell well in the bottle and their casks can be found in many free houses as well as Wetherspoons.

Today, the New Year re-stocking continued with Blue Monkey beers arriving from Notts. The German beers that were due before Christmas arrived today and are listed on the new page format elsewhere on this site. We intend to update the page of our International beers by creating seperate pages for different countries / areas. This will take time but we've made a start - we hope it will be more accessible for customers. We also received today a delivery of a new beer - ScheldeBrouwerij / ZeeZuiper Tripel from Belgium, comes highly recommended.
